Laowa Products

In recent years, Laowa has released several highly unique lenses that have become extremely popular among photographers worldwide.

In 2013, they identified the market need for a budget macro lens. This lens had to not only be used for magnification but also serve as a normal portrait lens.

After more than 14 months of research and design, they launched the 60mm f2.8 2X Ultra-Macro Lens. The world's first 2:1 macro lens with a focusing range from 2:1 magnification ratio to infinity focus.

These lenses sold like hotcakes. Following this success, the brand gained even more drive to release more lenses of this kind.

After this successful launch came the 15mm f4 Wide Angle Macro Lens. This lens even received the 'World First' title. The world's widest 1:1 macro lens. Shortly after, Laowa introduced the 105mm f2 Smooth Trans Focus Lens, also known as the Bokeh Dreamer lens.

Milestones

Three major successes have prompted Laowa to further build and bring even more unique lenses to the market.

The 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D was launched on Kickstarter, raising over $660,000 in 30 days. Following this, Laowa made its debut at Photokina in Cologne, Germany.

From there, they continued to design over 50 unique lenses for all camera brands. This includes their first AF lens to celebrate the brand's 10th anniversary.
